Socket & Gem System
How the System Works
Dynasty Tale's socket system lets you add up to two socket slots on eligible equipment, then embed gems for permanent stat bonuses. The process has two parts: drilling (creating sockets) and embedding (inserting gems). Gems themselves are crafted at the Mix Master NPC using Diamond catalysts and gem materials.
Drill a Socket
At Dos, The Drill Master, open the Drill (Socket) interface. Place the equipment you want to drill in the left slot, and put the required number of identical Drill Stones in the right slots. Confirm to attempt opening a socket on the equipment.
Embed a Gem
At Lee, The Rune Master, open the gem embedding interface. Place your socketed equipment in the left slot and a matching gem in the right slot. The gem color must match the socket type (e.g. Ruby socket → Red gems). Prismatic sockets can accept gems of any color.
Craft Better Gems
At the Mix Master NPC, use the Mix window: put a Diamond catalyst on the left and gem materials on the right. Stage 1 — combine 12 same-color Gem Pieces with a Purple Diamond to craft a Triangular Gem (+5 stat). Stage 2 — combine 8 same-color Triangular Gems with a Silver Diamond to craft a Square Gem (+10 stat). Stage 3 will be opened in a future update.
Important Rules
- Each equipment piece can hold a maximum of 2 socket slots.
- General drills (Iron / Titanium / Diamond) create a random socket type; Rune Drills guarantee a specific type.
- If drilling fails while adding the second socket, you may lose existing sockets — drill carefully.
- Gems must match socket color unless the socket is Prismatic.

All gem crafting is done at the Mix Master NPC. Place the catalyst in the left slot and materials in the right slots. All materials on the right must be the same color. You can right-click gems to auto-place them into mix slots (same as Sheltoms).
